There are three different types of Litecoin miners to choose from: CPUs, GPUs and ASICs. ASICs are the most efficient miners so we’ll start with one of the most popular Litecoin ASICs of all time: the Antminer L3++. Although the L3++ is now two years old it’s still a good option for anyone just getting into Litecoin mining.

GPU mining is considerably harder to set up, and not much more efficient than CPU mining when compared to ASICs. Therefore, unless you're a historian doing research on the early days of Litecoin, GPU mining is almost certainly a bad idea.

The preferred bus width is 256 bits. Separately, it should be said about proper cooling and overclocking of the GPU. For a Litecoin miner, the best choice is a GPU with a good cooling system and the ability to increase power.
